Where Only Reason Rules

Where Only Reason Rules…
by  Raymond Sutherland

Where only reason rules there is no power
Humility is left far down the road
And longing hearts stay desert-dry but fooled
Believing they are drawing nearer God

Religion with her microscopic eye
Dissects…bisects…’til under reason’s blade
The beauty and the power of Sharon ’s Rose
O necessity must dissipate and fade

To itching ears the faith-less priests present
A clinically correct exegesis
Where facts replace The Holy Spirit’s work
Lord…save us from this surrogate nemesis

One Response to Where Only Reason Rules

  1. Tom says:

Yes we could do with less religion and more emphasis on personal faith. Subtle yet profound as always Raymond. God bless.
